About

Who Am I?

Hi! My name is Amanda. I’m a fantasy writer, poet, and book blogger in Brisbane, Australia. I study Creative Writing at QUT and work in a library. Basically, I live and breathe words.

My parents were born in India. I care about diverse representation and think that one way towards a better world is through literary empathy. I’m always on the lookout for diverse books, especially with South Asian rep (damn it’s hard to find!) or f/f romances.

Please give me a rec and I’ll add it to my TBR!

What Do I Read?

I read mainly YA Fantasy. I was tempted over to the dark side as an impressionable teen and have lurked there ever since. I also dabble in:

sci fi,

classics,

mystery/thriller/horror (loving this genre atm, especially dark academia!),

historical,

contemporary, and

magical realism.

(But never Ouija boards.)

I love books that are brilliantly crafted and leave me feeling like my heart has been ripped out.

Poetic prose is better than a gin and tonic to me. I’d die for any anti-heroine with a fierce and raging heart like Jude Duarte, Lada Drawlya, or Zoya Nazyalensky. I like my books tainted by morally grey characters like Kaz Brekker, Cardan Greenbriar, or the Darkling—the more sinister the better.

If there are sapphics or sirens or fae, I’m 100% there.
